ADOBLO 13th Dog Walk

One word to describe the ADOBLO 13th Dog Walk held on September 23, 2017?

AWESOME!

On this beautiful Saturday morning, amidst the gradual bustle of the Abeokuta community, the dogs of Ogun state took a break from their individual territories (with their owners/guardians of course) to gather at the Car Park by the Oke-Ilewo bridge, opposite Mr. Biggs as early as 6:30 a.m.

By 7:30 a.m., groups of people had begun to gather to behold the magnificent canine variety that joined in the walk.

Amidst pictures and a short session about walking dogs and being vigilant concerning tired dogs and moving vehicles, dog lovers and breeders alike bonded. The walk commenced in the direction of the popular and recently modernized Omida market.

At the Ibara Police Station, the procession multilaterally made a u-turn when it was observed that a few dogs not accustomed to long walks showed signs of fatigue. It is also worthy to note that the sun rose particularly early on this beautiful Saturday morning.

By the return to the Car Park over 50 dogs had been noted and registered. The walk was a huge success. Old alliances were rekindled and new allies were made as breeders exchanged contacts in preparation for mating, whelping, dog care services and countless other dog related business opportunities.

Some popular breeds in attendance included:

American Eskimo
American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT)
Caucasian
Chow chow
German Shepherd
Rottweiler
South African Boerboel
Doberman Pincher

More dog breeders and lovers also joined ADOBLO after the walk to learn more about dogs and network among people with like minds.

Watch out for the 14th ADOBLO Dog Walk on Saturday November 18, 2017.
